Updated: Dec 4, 2023

Hey there, fellow storytellers! Welcome to the first week of Myth Maker's Story Challenges! Every week, we will choose certain members of the Story Squad to star in your story as "The Cast" and explore different ways to workshop easy storytelling techniques. This week, in the spirit of kicking off National Novel Writing Week, we'll be focusing on Character Bios!

The Cast

Story Squad Cast Week 1

The Challenge:

Fill out the basic character bio sheet for all three characters. Once you're done, see if you can take it a step further and make a scene involving all three of them.

Advanced Mode Settings: Only one of the three characters can like yellow and purple as their favorite color.

Mini Character Bio Sheet

  • Character Name:

  • Character Age:

  • Occupation:

  • Favorite Color:

  • Special Powers:

  • Strength:

  • Weakness:

  • Loves:

  • Hates:

  • Their Drive (what makes them do the things they do):

  • 4-Sentance Blurb summarizing the best and worst aspects of this character. Maybe even going into a brief but spicey backstory.

Pro Tip: Don't get too hung up on the details and shoot from the gut. This exercise should be completed in about 30 minutes or less, so any longer is defeating the purpose. Have fun and keep those creative wheels loose.

Feel free to share your work in The Storytelling Squad group, free for all to join! You can also make a free account to keep up with the latest Story Challenges and other updates on Storyteller Planet! I hope to create an open community of storytellers that can collaborate on ideas. I look forward to seeing you in whatever form I appear. Until next time!

Expand Your Mind...

Let's face it, language learning isn't easy. But it can be fun and ultimately unite us across Lahnds and Rehlms. All we have to do is expand our minds. This is easiest understood by those who speak Earth English, but other languages from other places may also understand this language lesson.

Tip #1: Laugh every time you mess up and then try again. Every mistake is an opportunity to learn and grow. Embrace it!
