NaNoWriMo Series: Writing Tip #26
Updated: May 20, 2024
This is probably one of the most fun ways to visualize your world. If I was writing this post a few months ago, I would've recommended using Pinterest to get your ideas in one spot. Unfortunately, Pinterest isn't what it used to be and I've become turned off from the whole experience, BUT that isn't why I'm not recommending them. AI has changed the game for writers to visualize their work just by typing in a few words. I highly recommend using Canva for all of your projects because they have the perfect balance of creation, inspiration, and AI magic. Don't believe me? Just check out the NaNoWriMo tip photo above! This was created using various layers of AI art and my imagination. This can be how you get a better grip on your characters and world details without the burden of stealing artist art off of Google. Let your imagination run wild and ask yourself a few of these questions to help you get started:
What is something in your story that you would love to see drawn out? Why?
Which character in your story would you try to create using AI art generators? Why?
What is the wackiest thing in your story that you would want to visualize? Why?
How can making a visual representation boost your character and setting descriptors?
If you want to learn more NaNoWriMo tips, check out the 30 Days of Tips that will unfold this month. Can't wait? Then check out my mini-course on The Basics of Storytelling that's available for $1. I look forward to seeing you in whatever form I appear. Until next time.
