NaNoWriMo Series: Writing Tip #25
Updated: May 20, 2024
This one is fun and is rightfully needed after 25 days of writing. Take a break from whatever you're working on and pick a completely different genre and writing form. Maybe a sappy poem if you're working on an action novel. Or how about some smut after writing content for pre-schoolers? This doesn't mean to drop everything and go full-blown writer on the idea. Just take a day off and come up with one scene for this idea that is the complete opposite of what you're really passionate about working on. Who knows what it will inspire after you're done! Ask yourself some of these questions to stir a new idea to life:
What is a character that has nothing to do with what you're working on?
What is their biggest problem?
How can they fix it?
If this is a poem, does it rhyme, free flow, or is it a spoken word?
