Character Analysis: Get To Know Simon Seville

We've already talked about what Alvin and the Chipmunks can offer us as a franchise (and a lifestyle), so it's only fitting that we get a closer look at the characters that make up this amazing show. My favorite out of all the Chipmunks and Chipettes is, and will forever be, Simon Seville. He is a sassy soul with a brain almost as big as his heart. In my opinion, Simon gets some of the best lines and deserves to be the first in our journey of these iconic characters. So, let's dive into what this blue-clad chipmunk is all about.

The smartest of his brothers, Simon Seville is the brainiac who has been butting heads with Alvin and taking a bit of the "older brother" role, despite being the middle kid. Sometimes considered "the heartthrob", Simon focuses on his science and making sure his brothers stay out of trouble. His best friend, and not-so-secret crush, Jeanette often empathizes with his troubles, bringing them closer. He is usually dressed in all blue with round glasses, though his overall appearance has shifted with the years. Simon's dry sense of humor and wit balances his brothers and he often ends up being the voice of reason at the end of the day. Some of the best moments are when Simon is brought out of character, showing off his more confident and romantic side. Contrary to popular belief, Simon and Alvin didn't fight in the 60s. It wasn't until the 80s that the dynamic between the two brothers shifted. Simon often cheers on Theodore and gives him that extra push to help him shine. Throw in the fact that he is always trying to keep Alvin out of trouble, and you would think that Simon is the oldest.

This is 100% biased, but I think that Simon and Jeanette's relationship is the cutest out of the trio. It is safe to say that I spent an unhealthy amount of time collecting content that featured them, both canon and fan-made. I even went the extra mile and made my own stories about them, continuing the adventures of Simon and his brothers and their romantic counterparts.
