Character Analysis: Get To Know Meliodas

Updated: May 20, 2024

The many faces of Meliodas
The many faces of Meliodas

When I watched The Seven Deadly Sins, I was very interested in the story behind the sins, especially Meliodas. Every smile he made seemed to have a twisted pain behind it. There were so many unanswered questions at the beginning that every episode was like pulling back another clue. Meliodas is the most multi-faceted guy in this show with a lot to deal with in the past, present, and future. As usual, I will be doing my best to skip the spoilers and get into the meat and potatoes about who this captain really is.

Never too far from Elizabeth, Meliodas is the kind of guy that you don't want to mess with. Though normally sporting a smile and an upbeat attitude, Melidoas is the Sin of Wrath (amongst other things) and holds an insane amount of power. One swing of his sword will leave you speechless. That and his unapologetic approach to shoving his face in Elizabeth's tits. Meliodias has a bad habit of running into a fight with joy, especially if he's fighting beside his best friend, Bon. Surrounded by the ones he loves most, Meliodas can be a happy-go-lucky guy that runs a traveling tavern. Alone, he can fall into his own darkness and becomes colder and more reserved. The more the darkness spreads, the worse it becomes. No matter what state he's in, you can bet that Elizabeth will not be too far away to bring him back. Elizabeth is the most important thing in the world to Meliodas and he will do everything in his power to protect her, even if it means sacrificing himself. He will keep his friends as far as possible from his past mistakes so they don't get involved. For a man of many secrets, he still has yet to crack the code on cooking. Maybe in his next life, he'll be a better chef.

Meliodas is one of the top characters in this show. He is a classic underdog that must prove his worth to the people around him and does it all with a smile. Those that know him either fear or respect him and his comrades will follow him into the depths of hell if they need to (literally). I wish there was more I could gush about without giving away some spicey plot points, but alas my lips are sealed.

If you want to learn more about Meliodas, check out his Wiki Page and spoil all the plot points for yourself by just reading the summary. For now, enjoy a personal favorite!

Who do you want to meet next? Diane, King, or someone else? Stay tuned to find out!

Side note: This happens to be my 100th blog post on the site and I'm tickled at how far almost two years have evolved this happy-go-lucky ameba into an actual blog. Click here to see the very first "blog post" made on Crystal Word Vomit!

Expand Your Mind...

Let's face it, language learning isn't easy. But it can be fun and ultimately unite us across Lahnds and Rehlms. All we have to do is expand our minds. This is easiest understood by those who speak Earth English, but other languages from other places may also understand this language lesson.

Tip #1: Laugh every time you mess up and then try again. Every mistake is an opportunity to learn and grow. Embrace it!
