It's a miracle after all of these years that Dave hasn't lost his voice from screaming. From animation to live-action, David Seville is a dad and manager to the chipmunks. In every version, this is the guy that will save his boys from getting into too much trouble. For a simple songwriter, he does have a lot of responsibility for being a father figure of not only the chipmunks but the Chipettes as well. Let's learn a little bit more about this single dad of the greatest chipmunk singers on the planet; Dave!

Originally drawn as a simple guy in a white shirt and slacks, David Seville is a single guy living the bachelor lifestyle. The Chipmunks find various ways to disrupt his life, but he does try to have his own moments. He tends to be a romantic and tries his shot at love at various times. He is a compassionate father, even when Alvin is being, well, Alvin. He believes in his boy's greatness and encourages them to follow their dreams. Being their manager, he also dictates how their music career is going. He juggles the life of a musician with a suburban lifestyle quite well. Though his life has never been more chaotic, Dave learns many things while living with the Chipmunks and Chipettes. This can inspire songs that go on to be great hits that everyone loves at the end of the day.

A simple guy with a big heart, Dave deserves the dad of the century award. It's not every day that a guy will let a few strange chipmunks completely transform his life. Something that stems from the original 80's animation and not the live-action movies, is that Dave saved the Chipmunks during a harsh winter when they were first born. Just out on a stroll in the middle of a blizzard, the Chipmunk's mother begged Dave to take them to a safe place. He tried to find her again but never managed to find her until years later when Alvin and his brothers learn the truth. Through whatever timeline you find Dave, he's the biggest Chipmunk and Chippette fan out there.
