Don't Cry - Poem

A lake with a reflective view of the sunset

I hear it all the time,

Don't cry.

Yet tears fall down my face.

I didn't understand the words.

There's no emotion,

Not a trace.

And I didn't understand it,

But I hear echoes of the past.

The whipping sounds

Of lashing tongues

And buckles falling fast.

I see the child in their eyes

Still looking back at me.

Repeating words their elders cried

With little sympathy.

So cry, dear child.

And understand

Why they say

Don't cry.

For they were forced to wear a smile

And hold the pain inside.

Don't cry

Don't cry.

A lullaby.

From years of holding it inside.

Don't cry

Don't cry.

Just dry your eye.

They're watching us.

Now's not the time.

Don't cry

Don't cry.

You'll be alright.

Do it when we're out of sight.

No more,

I cry,

No more of this!

It ends with me.

With empathy.

So cry, sweet baby,

And shed those tears.

Shed those habits.

Shed those fears.

And take these words

That I say dear.

Cry, sweet baby.

Cry all the tears.

I look forward to seeing you in whatever form I appear. Until next time!

Expand Your Mind...

Let's face it, language learning isn't easy. But it can be fun and ultimately unite us across Lahnds and Rehlms. All we have to do is expand our minds. This is easiest understood by those who speak Earth English, but other languages from other places may also understand this language lesson.

Tip #1: Laugh every time you mess up and then try again. Every mistake is an opportunity to learn and grow. Embrace it!
