If your characters are weak and your world is meek, your story will suck. Point blank, period.

This doesn’t just mean figuring out what your character had for breakfast or what planet they live on. What is the meaning behind their name? How do they walk? Talk? Get down with their bad selves? And what about the plants outside their house? What do they smell like? How does the air taste? These are only some of the infinite questions we can (and will) explore as we fall down the rabbit hole of characters, the universe, and if you’re lucky, yourself.
